in reply to: Synthroid Dosage Increase #1176779
Wow, thanks! That definitely helps. I am printing your information out and will compare them to my hardcopies of my lab results. Thank you so much!
in reply to: Synthroid Dosage Increase #1176777I am receiving hard copies of my labs through a portal. I just am having a hard time knowing what everything means. Sorry to sound so dumb about it all. This is a real learning experience, isnt’ it?
in reply to: Ablated Thyroid?? #1176782Thanks for your response Kimberly. Yes, my levels are pretty normal and I feel good. My Synthroid dosage was just increased slightly this week. I was just surprised that my doctor felt that we would have to monitor my nodule to see if it grows and thyroid’s size.
in reply to: Synthroid Dosage Increase #1176775Thanks snelsen. I was actually feeling pretty good before the increase. The increase is very slight so that was why I was wondering what was the purpose. What did my doctor see in my labs that made him want to increase the dosage?
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175827Thank you so much for the information !
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175824I thought I had read somewhere that you can ask for Synthroid without the dye??? Maybe someone can answer this question. I have not started my Synthroid but will on Thursday and I was going to ask the Doctor if he could prescribe the Synthroid without the dye.
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175823Thank you Kimberly.
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175822Thank you everyone for your feedback on my concerns. I see the pros, cons and understand things much better. Here’s to all of us fighting this Disease and taking it day by day.
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175821Gatorgirly – The articles I read caused panic in me! This is a site to share ones concerns. The info I have shared is fact – not fiction. I don’t care about toys or cars or appliances that are being recalled at this time. I care about me – a human being. I am worried about something that has been recalled (yes I understand only certain batches) that I have to take for the rest of my life. I will always do my research on any medication that I have to take and that includes, why the Synthroid was recalled. Everyone has the right to ask and receive answers and not be threatened that I will be legal trouble for asking questions about a newsletter article that was put out in the GDATF Newsletter.
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175814Thanks Beach. Here’s to all of us feeling better. You can only wish and hope. And totally agree with, nothing worse than having to take a med for the rest of your life that has recalls on it.
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175812Ninajanet – It’s not fun second guessing our decision, is it? I had my RAI in October 2012 and actually, I feel pretty good right now. I do suffer from terrible, terrible headaches though. Which the endo says is a result of the radiation. Great!!!!! Thanks Dr. – you told me there were no symptoms before I went in for the RAI. Anyway, I’m not on the Synthroid until Thursday, so this is all a concern to me, as it is to you. Now I’m thinking, would the surgery have been any different than the RAI.
What kind of problems are you having from the RAI?
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175811Beach sounds like you are having a time with all of this. And yes, I guess the Synthroid is the only option at this point. But what a roller coaster ride. Makes me sad. But this whole Graves Disease/Thyroid Disease is a not how I anticipated my life. Again, don’t get me wrong, we don’t have a terminal disease – thank God – but this is so confusing.
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175808Didn’t know that there would be serious consequences. Like what?
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175807Really?
in reply to: Synthroid Recall #1175806I agree with you on your comment about “if I had a choice I would have never done RAI”. I totally agree. I agreed to the RAI and now I have these terrible concerns about the Synthroid. To me, the reason why people have to constantly have the Synthroid adjusted is because of the information I read in the recall. It’s recalled for potency problems. So if the Synthroid is too strong in potency – you go crazy hyper; if the Synthroid is too low in potency – you go into hypo. So is this the pill or YOU. Hmmmmm…..sounds like a pill problem to me.
