I feel fine otherwise. My GP is open tomorrow. I am going to call when they open. Hope this is nothing serious.

This is rough when it comes to retail: weird hours and working an evening shift is pretty much a given.

Can you get a work buddy to walk you to your car when you’re done with your night shift hours? Can you find a space that is close to the building and where you can park head in under a parking lot light? That’s the only thing I can suggest.

He wants to give it a month to see how I do; get levels checked then and then again in February.

He also said I was overmedicated — this was in mid-summer. During that time frame, the fatigue was pretty bad.

I tried AARP; not available in my state. It used to be available; apparently not anymore.

I asked about setting up a "group of 2" — forget what they are quoting me for myself and my "associate" — the lowest rate is $507 A MONTH.

I said to them "way too high; can you get me cheaper?" Reply was "if you had a younger associate then maybe yes." I asked about a rate for myself; I am sure it’s the same $500+ a month.

I got a letter from my insurance carrier on December 4 stating that the Cobra subsidy was over on November 30.

Eh, FOUR DAYS AFTER THE FACT; why was that letter not sent at the middle of October the latest? And every piece of info I had said that the subsidy ended December 1. December 1 is definitely NOT the same as November 30; it’s a "lost month".

I am only collecting $419 a week for unemployment so any price of insurance is going to cost me a very small fortune. Plus I have other bills to pay.

This is a mess and a big one. And don’t get me started about what’s happening in the unemployment world; I have done everything I could to find another job; no success.

Aw, hy, I’m sorry. that has to be rough.

remember the sweats I told you all about? I am pretty sure it was connected to the doc halving my methimazole dosage– about 6 days after the dosage was cut, I started to get funky sweats. They’d worsen if I put on my coat, added another blanket at nite, etc.

the sweats vanished about 2 weeks ago. It was pretty brutal.

I’m still hanging in there and trying to eat right. Still sticking to program — my stomach feels smaller and my eyes look a lot less puffy since I started the program.

I have signed up for WW, too — doing it on line.

Tonite’s salsa lesson was a killer — it’s a half hour lesson and I was sweating profusely afterwards. I had about 5 glasses of water and sat for a good 15 minutes before I hit the road; the dance studio is a good 20 miles from here.

Speaking to your clergy person if you are faith-based is an excellent suggestion.

I hope you are having a better day today. take care.

Call your local hospital and ask to speak to the crisis team.

Somebody there will be more than glad to listen — how horrendous for you that there’s nobody around.

I hope you’re still out there; hoping tomorrow is a better day for you.

Indeed — and making one main meal for the entire week helps, too: Stew, meatballs, chili, stuffed cabbage, stuffed peppers, chicken meal, turkey breast, etc.

When you come home from work, you plumb don’t feel like preparing a whole meal.

The last time my levels were run was mid-September. I’m on a methimazole dose of 5 mg/day.

The endo I was seeing doesn’t want me to come back until mid-December. (I’ve got another new endo appt lined up for tomorrow; let’s see what happens there — he will probably ask for another level as reassurance for himself, I think)

I’m still going and I still feel pretty good. It’s almost like old times.

Fooey. I was working up a good sweat at the dance lessons on Wednesday and then it was time for the end of the lesson.
I was just getting my groove on, too.

I got a "pretty good" workout today — I spent a horrific afternoon with a car that overheated; the car is at the dealership (they don’t know why it’s overheating; no leaks and there’s more than enough coolant). All told, 4 hours — the tow truck drove me home. In the old days, I’d have been whipped from the stress and frazzled and been ready for a nap the second I got into the door…I arrived home 5 hours ago and I’m still rarin’ to go.

Shoes with natural materials are a must if you have stinky feet or feet that sweat a lot.

Synthetic uppers retain moisture.

Wear leather shoes/boots or shoes made of canvas (good for the summer months). And white cotton socks help, too — again, it’s a natural fiber: they breathe.

They also sell those sox that have wicking in them to keep moisture away from your feet. A sporting goods store, a ski shop or a hunting/camping store usually carry them, also.

Nearly a year — I was diagnosed at the start of last November.

Sallie, it takes awhile — and note that we are all different. Take care; hope you feel better soon.

Is it possible you may be also experiencing post partum depression? I know it’s a year after your son but from what I understand, hormones may still be out of whack a year later. I strongly suggest you also speak to your gyno about how you feel. And if you get no satisfaction, get a second opinion.

Is there a friend or neighbor that can help you out — maybe have the neighbor or friend watch your son for the morning or afternoon and then you go and get some "you time" — do what you like: go to a movie, to the mall, to get a mani/pedi, browse a bookstore — it’s up to you.
