yeah my mom says i can get something i like after day 2. im going for the uptake scan and the next day we get results and i get to pop the pill. we r gonna have two hours to get home then its radiation time

i was mad cuz they changed my date to monday. the doctors got m ixed up and valley children’s said i wasn’t a patient of theirs. now i have to stay on my stinking diet for five more days. my neck hurt so we went to the hospital and the door slammed on my hand. IT HURT… then my mom almost passed out so she saw the doctor too. but i was ok.

not going to go tomorrow to get the RAI for Jorgie Ana…they messed up in paperwork. so, the new date is Monday. Jorgie Ana was complaining about her neck hurting (she has a very large goiter) all the way to the back, through the right side. not a sore throat just hurting. is this something to worry about?? she probably complained about it four times.

one more day until we go to Saint Agnes hospital for her scan and radioactive pill. it was a hard day today she was moody all day and cried almost the whole dinner. i hope that the RAI helps her. i hope that there is hope for a normal life for her. its hard to see her like this..now that i know what is wrong i want to fix it. i wish with all my heart that i could. she has a lifetime of ups and downs. i pray for strength…. ” title=”Sad” />

my mom says i have be on the low iodine diet till Wednesday and i have one more day till my scan and iodine pill. I’m gonna pop my pill and be in my room for a while. my mom got me a lot of new stuff like Tinkerbell, coloring books, magazines and art kit. i got lots lots more. i was really upset today cuz i can’t have any good stuff to eat and my throat hurt. i cried at the restaurant. ” title=”Neutral” /> I ATE A SALAD!!! because everything has salt! I’m i had a steak with no salt or seasoning too. kinda scared to have the RAI but kinda happy cuz its help me be normal one day. my mom says i will be able to eat normal two days after i take my pill. will i be able to eat anything? even Starbucks? :” title=”Question” />

* my throat is swollen too.. catsumum and i guess its pretty big cuz they r in a hurry to get this all done.

i have two more days till i have to go to the hospital…my mom makes me eat salads all the time..i hate it. i need a pizza!
WILL MY TASTE GO AWAY? how long will i lose my sense of taste. how long do i have to eat salads after the treatment.

thanks so much for the replies..she has her scan on Wednesday and results and radioactive iodine on Thursday. she wrote a bulletin so please give your support! i don’t think she truly understands but i feel we are making the right choice for her.

i have been researching as much as i can..i just feel like i’m not getting the time. i in less than a week she was diagnosed and scheduled for the scan and the RAI at the same time. they keep telling me she needs urgent care. she has a goiter that is very swollen…maybe that’s why . the thing is i don’t know and i ask as much as i can but she got sick going on PTU and got sick coming off the med. now she has a beta blocker to help blood pressure..when i talked to her doctor about going on the other med. she said that it also caused liver damage and she would not take the risk..then take her off quickly.

thank you all for your help. i did ask and they wont give her the prescription because she has to be off the medication in order to do the RAI and it would be hard for her to go on the other drug then quickly get off..this way she will be ready when they call to go get the scan. However, we are now waiting for the insurance and they are dragging there feet. So she is bouncing of the walls and back to having serious mood swings. lol and the late nights are back lol (ughh).

there is no soreness or swelling of the neck? will she be moving around a lot? i’m learning as we go but there is a lot i still don’t know..any tip no matter how small is helpful.
