Ski,
Thanks again for your input! I always thought the wavy line was related to grave’s. I do get migranes and I am on migrane medication. I don’t always get the wavy line, but everytime I do, I do get a headache. I didn’t know that this was a classic sign before a migrane. I am glad to have this figured out now. I will keep you posted about the lacrimal glands. Hopefully they will figure something out.
Thanks,
Lulu
in reply to: graves eye disease #1075695Hi Everyone,
I would have to say that the eye disease is the hardest part. I was diagnosed two years ago and I seem to be having more problems with my eyes now than in the beginning. I am seeing an opthomologist who specializes in Grave’s disease. My lacmiral glands are enlarged and he doesn’t know why. He did an MRI and a CT scan and nothing showed up except the enlarged glands. He has me on artifical tears and that helps the discomfort sometimes. My lids are puffy all the time and my eyes hurt often. So I want to know if anyone else has enlarged tear glands and if anyone gets headaches from this? Also, on and off I get this clear, wavy line that outlines my eye. It doesn’t change my vision, but i can see it out of the corner of my eye and it is annoying. It lasts from 5 to 20 minutes and I usually get a headache afterwards. It is hard to explain, but if anyone else has experienced this please let me know. I am trying to figure out if all of this is related to Grave’s or if something else may be going on. Thanks!!

in reply to: Still experiencing symptoms…but labs are normal? #1067791Hi Everyone,
I am new here and trying to find some answers. I was diagnosed 2 years ago at 35 years old and almost 2 years ago I did the radioactive iodine treatment. Once I became hypo I gained about 15 pounds. My labs have been normal for close to a year and I am taking Levoxyl. For the last six months I have been exercising regularly (never did before) and watching what I eat. I have always been thin, so 15 pounds is a huge deal. So it seems no matter what I do I can’t lose this weight. I haven’t even lost a single pound. Very, very frustrated. Also, within the last three months I have been tired alot more. Of course my endo says it has to be something else because my labs are normal. I did see my GP and he said that I should continue what I am doing and take more fiber to feel less sluggish. So I have been doing this religiously and don’t feel any better. Long story short, I spoke to another woman who was on Levoxyl and didn’t feel much better, but her labs were normal. She then convinced her doctor to switch her to cinthroid (sp?) and she says she now feels much better. I am wondering what other think about this. I did mention it to my endo and he thinks I am doing fine on the Levoxyl because of my labs, so I don’t know if he would switch my meds and I don’t know for sure if that is the answer. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
