I use Refresh brand eye drops to moisture my dry eye. Helps a lot. They seem to feel better in the winter time though but I’m wondering if I’m just getting used to the discomfort. :(:(

    Thanks everyone.

I have an appointment with a dermatologist end of next week.

At one point I had to see a sleep specialist because my GP thought I had apnea. This was before I had the Grave’s diagnosis and went on medication. The sleep doctor asked to feel my thyroid – she said she knew of thyroid disorders but had actually never felt one that was enlarged. Kind of like your rash story – at times I feel like a case study for other doctors! Oh well, if it helps anyone with this odd condition then it’s ok with me.

What is it meant by half-life?

    Thanks!
Did the dermatologist recommend any cream for your legs? What’s “over time?” A year? I’m not looking to win any beauty contests…

I, too, have the TED. On a scale of 1-10 my eye doctor said it’s a 2 but in pictures from two months ago it was raging like a 7. I looked insane! Now I’m just puffy eyed, moreso in the morning.

    Thank you for responding!

I was worried about this but I fly frequently with no issues. I was diagnosed in Sept. of 2012 but even at my worst with full blown Grave’s I was flying. I found riding in the car FAR more uncomfortable than on a place. Depending on your airline – try and pre-board. Just tell the gate attendant you have a disability. It helps – also it will help you speed through the TSA lines.

The planes pressurize at 10k feet. Sometimes upon descent my ears pop feel a little fuzzy but I relax my jaw and it’s fine. Before medication I would wear my sunglasses onboard.
I’ve flown long hauls 10+ hours and short hauls without issue. I do find it much more comfortable to wear compression socks – they really help.

    Cheers!
