in reply to: Frustrated with doc #1176209
Any chance you can keep looking? There has to be a better doctor! I’m so sorry I know how everything is amplified when you feel crappy. Please don’t give up!
in reply to: Ugh, too good to be true?! #1176141Kimberly- thanks. I saw the doctor and he told me to reduce methmizole from 30mg to 20mg. He also said too take them together not morning and night. I thought that was interesting. He was sweet and tried to warn me about the hair falling out. I have lots of hair but as he stated it is like when your pregnant. However, hair is back to normal it fell out more when I was really hyper, I had assumed it was hormonal. I am within normal range. So, he will see me again march 6th with a rx for labs right before I see him.
I wish everyone could see this endo he is very thorough and kind. The first one I saw was a bit creepy. What a difference!
in reply to: Frustrated with doc #1176207With the two doctors I saw none had ever seen me that far out without lab work. That seems like they will see you and then ask you to get labs for the next visit. The visit as you stated lags the results of where you actually are. Not acceptable. Maybe try to explain you may “have misses a previous lab and you need to catch up” so they have the “most recent info to work with” I’d be mad as hell and find another doctor in the meantime if you can? Maybe talk to the doctor directly. Nurses or office people can be notoriously bossy and bitchy without the doctor knowing.
in reply to: Ugh, too good to be true?! #1176139I don’t know the symptoms of hypo but I think the other shoe is dropping. My lower back and neck is killing me. First, I thought maybe it was just my period but the pain hasn’t gone away. I also feel a lot more tired. I see the doctor soon enough on Wednesday so I’m just getting annoyed once again with this disease.
I mentioned I am in a dance troupe and my friends were trying to get me in for the upcoming show because I was doing “so well” I tried to explain it isn’t what you think. I have no idea when I could get bad again. I must say I never thought it would happen after a few short weeks. 6 months not 6 weeks. I am not going by my levels because on paper it doesn’t look so bad. Which is weird because originally my levels were high but I was doing okay. After they really sky rocketed I noticed the heart palpitations the most. I wasn’t so disturbed by feeling warm or being thirsty etc. So, I’m thinking normal may actually be more hypo for me? (Thinking out loud not asking for a dx).
Ugh…
in reply to: Ugh, too good to be true?! #1176138Thanks! I’m still in the area. Different state but it’s only 20 miles from my doctor. I doubt I will switch endos since I’m pretty fortunate to have found my present one. Yes, I will have lots of sorting to do! I have to clean and sort just to bring the realtors in to interview and price the house.we are in a tight space so hopefully moving out to the burbs will give us some breathing room. I figure do it now while I’m not working and feeling somewhat normal. I just hope the stress doesn’t trigger a relapse.
in reply to: Ugh, too good to be true?! #1176136Thanks Shirley. Funny, I did add the ranges on the right side but it’s not showing up. Yes, all are better except the asterisk and T4 that also had an asterisk. No, I’m not too worried now because compared to the previous lab almost everything had an asterisk!
But, it’s only been 6 weeks and I am super responsive to the medicine. Which of course is great but I have been waiting for the other shoe to drop because it seems that is the inevitable outcome.
I completely understand now why you have to stay on top of this so closely!
I need to be well for the next four months because we are doing one of the most stressful tasks… Buying/selling house and moving. Will my husband help much? Doubtful doubtful doubtful.
in reply to: So Graves’ Disease is a frame of mind??? #1176081Yes, my mom says crazy crap like that at the worst times. Not, about the thyroid because she had that. But, she can find lots of other things to make me crazy. And the husband well you know my situation. I feel for you I did most everything myself.
I do think you will feel better in a week with the higher dosage. I’m praying you do.
in reply to: Now Endo says take 3 pills? #1176105I take three and I have been feeling good. I think you will notice an improvement in a few days?
in reply to: That didn’t work out… #1176132I’m so sorry. I wish you luck in finding a good endo. You are so right, that should never have happened.
in reply to: Ugh, too good to be true?! #1176134Ok, just found previous results. Actually, T3, AST, ALT are coming down.
T4 did drop from 1.19 to 0.51 so that is worse?
I suppose after a while I will be able to read these results like everyone else!
in reply to: Anxiety Medications, which are best? #1175918I am not trying to get around anything I could have sworn I read that you or someone said it was allowed and suggested that it be done that way.
I do feel the rule limits sharing of information and people can decide for themselves what is credible or not. Granted if you do not want it shared here then people should link privately direct via personal email not the pm on this site.
Clearly, I completely misunderstood and was not trying to break the rules. I even said “it was allowed” meaning that was my understanding.
in reply to: Doctors refuse to prescribe anti thyroid drugs… #1175696My dr is all for the methmizole and as long as toxicity is not an issue he will be glad to put me on and off it until I find it a burden for whatever reason.
in reply to: Graves’ and anxiety. husband making me sick? #1175718Hmm.. How about Pennsylvania? I know Hershey or harrisburg has good doctors probably about the same commute or less and definitely a better environment. My grandmother lived in that area and had surprisingly good care. Including her thyroid I believe she had it removed. I was out of the country so I don’t know all the details of her experience but my dad didn’t seem to remember any issues and he handled most of her care. I can ask who her endo was?
Screw the deductible it’s coming no matter what. space out your doctor visits according to your health.
in reply to: How well can I feel with this disease? #1175724Thanks Kimberly! Yeah, who knew. I must have sounded possessed half the time. I sometimes have to pinch myself that the methmizole actually worked. I have to check my blood soon so hopefully there is no toxicity or hypo.
in reply to: Anxiety Medications, which are best? #1175914But don’t worry you can pm people the links. That is allowed. At first I thought it was a bizarre rule but it does keep things “clean” but feel free to announce that you have a link about something and people will let you know if they want the link as well. Of course you may have to post It a few times.
