in reply to: Terrible anxiety and very depressed #1174065
First off: you are not alone!
What I do is in the moment and I feel something very strongly: I try to think logically and objectively. Is it an appropriate response to be horribly upset because the milk spilled? No? I try taking a deep breath and keep thinking logically. How should I react to the milk being spilled? Or feeling like someone’s being mean to me or… whatever.
I notice that I have a harder time being logical and tend to overreact when I am tired, stressed, and not eating well. So I do my best to make sure I sleep well, eat well, and well, I haven’t figured the stress thing out yet.in reply to: My Story – Graves and Life #1173960(((Naisly))) Oh my goodness. You have had a tough time of it! I’m not sure how the system works near you. You need a dr that will listen to you. Telling the dr your issues is NOT being a hypocondriac. It sounds as if you have serious problems. I wish you all the best!!!!

Now, my Dad had thyroid cancer and lived to a ripe old age. I have had two different types of cancer and I’m groovy. Cancer DOES NOT have to mean a death sentence. Remember that!!!!!
My Dad had his thyroid removed and some radiation. He took thyroid meds. He lived a full, active, normal life.
Sending up lots of prayers for Katie!!!!
– Karenin reply to: Long term Methamazole use? #1171482Caro, I have been on 30mg Methimazole for a week and a half. I don’t do labs until September. My endo said that I will be on it about a year and then I will ween off of it. Hopefully go into remission as several of her patients have done. If not we will discuss the next step then. My husband was worried about the liver issue and she said to watch for a yellowing of the skin and eyes. That shows the liver is not working right. Like a newborn and jaundice.
Just wanted you to know you are not the ONLY person taking a high dose.
Karenin reply to: Positive attitude #1173232Great attitude!
While I am newly diagnosed with graves, I am not new to serious health problems. I swear being positive helps me feel better. I am thankful to be alive.
