in reply to: Hyper to Hypo…and now what? #1062047
When I was extremely hypo I had a TSH of 30 and I was on 40 mg of Methimazole. After those results I changed my endo and she put me on 10 mg, then 5mg, then 2.5mg currently.
Thanks Bobbi for the information and replies.
in reply to: Hyper to Hypo…and now what? #1062045Thanks Bobbi for the information! Is it normal for someone to jump levels so much just because of a 2.5mg change in Methimazole?
Hi Kimberly-
Thank you so much for this information! It really helps me to sort out all of the various pieces of information (sometimes conflicting) that’s been provided to me.I truly appreciate it your great suggestions. I will make sure I work with my doctor to ensure I have as balanced of a diet as possible.
Thank you!

I’m so happy to have found this site because I finally can connect with people who are going through the same thing as me! I think I might have antibodies for both as well and I do have TED. Within one month my TSH jumped from 0.04 to 32.5. However, I’ve found most people are regulating using Synthroid…but I am regulating by my Methimazole dosage…were you guys on Methimazole before?Hang in there! This is a tough process to go through.
Thanks,
HelenHi Bobbi-
Thank you very much for your response. That’s very helpful information! When would be the best time for me to get tested to see whether I also have antibodies for Hashimoto’s disease? I’m guessing that I should wait until after I take the lower dosage of Methimazole for a few weeks to see if it impacts my TSH levels?
Thank you!
