in reply to: allergies to thyroid hormones #1069306Reached another one of those stone walls with the transdermal, the hormone that they use is Syntroid and since I had a really bad reaction to the pills and the injections its a no go. But I do have a question that maybe you can help me with. My endo wants me to go go Washington DC to the National Integrative Health Assos. I checked on line and they do not accept my insurance and also I am not in a position to drop everything and run to Washington. How do I find an alternative practitoner in Upstate New York and would an allergist be of assistance for me. I have an appointment with an alergist on Saturday to test me for food allergies. Also when I was in the hospital last month for the 7 days as a result of taking Synthroid, I did not see my normal endo. The one that I did see, my son sees, told my son that he can definately help me and to call and make an appointment, he will make time to see me. He is local and his office is in the hospital where I was, Will I look like I am jumping around and my insurance company will drop me? I have an HMO>BUT on the other hand if he CAN help me and get me back to somewhat normal I think its worth a try. What do you think? Thank you
in reply to: allergies to thyroid hormones #1069304thats definately true, some people can take just about anything and not have a problem. My compounding pharmacist called me on friday and had spoken to a colleague of his who suggested using a transdermal cream thryoid replacement, he said that he had success treating people with allergies that way. Now all I have to do Is talk my Dr into it. But after all the things tha we have unsuccessfully tried I think that this would be a good option, not having to worry about the fillers that they use. Thank you for your reply and prayers, can use all the help I can get. ” title=”Razz” />
