in reply to: newly diagnosed #1177916
Oh and Jayne…..good luck with everything!
in reply to: newly diagnosed #1177915Thanks soooo much for your responses Nancy and Rasberry. It means so much to know that you have somewhere to go to vent, get information , and to be able to listen to the stories of others going through the same thing. Today is not a great day, my nerves have gotten the best of me…..took my Lopressor like the doctor ordered so at least I am doing something right now. I am awaiting the results of the RAI uptake scan and ultrasound, although I am not sure what difference it will make since my thyroid antibodies are off the hook. I find out Monday and have a follow-up with the doctor next week. I am going to take your advice Nancy and dive into all the information I can get my hands on so I go there with more answers than questions.
Thanks so much, the support you give here is priceless!Geri
in reply to: newly diagnosed #1177912I am very confused also. endocrine wants to go straight to RAI treatment but I am very confused about the whole thing. don;t know which options are the best for me. ALl I know is that I have to do something soon because I feel awful. Tired of explaining why I am nervous, moody and generally don’t feel well. Sometimes this heart racing thing can be pretty overwhelming. Once you treat it does it ever just “go away”. very overwhelmed.
in reply to: Started my RAI today. #1178505I am new to all of this and RAI therapy was one of the treatments the endocrinologist wants to do upfront. I am confused as to which way to gout I am glad that you have decided and I hope all goes well for you!
in reply to: Well, here goes! #1173614Hi To All! I am new to all of this and just completing the diagnosis phase. I guess after all is said and done it is better to know that I am not completely losing my mind with all these anxious, restless, sleepless and jittery days I have been having for so long. My PCP initially blew off the low TSH and told me I was having anxiety issues related to what I don’t know since he didn’t know me on a personal level…..and he gave me a prescription for Lexipro and sent me on my way, I wasn’t satisfied with that and sought out an endocrinologist. Never did take the Lexapro either lol. . My antibody levels all came back positive and my tsh is 0. T3 and T4 just approaching the upper limit of normal so I guess they consider this “subclinical” Had my RAI uptake scan today awaiting the final test result and then will have to discuss what to do. I am on lopressor but it is not really helping. Heart rate ok but this feeling like you are going to jump out of your skin is no better. I am glad I found this site, have never needed a forum to talk before but it is difficult to explain to people how this feels. I see I am not alone. I wish all of you well on your roads to wellness. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for all of you.
