in reply to: Another “I can’t take it anymore” thread :( #1179048
Hi Sue,
I’m sorry you’re having a bad day today. When my dose was increased recently, I went through the same good day/bad day ride (mostly bad days in the early going), too. If you haven’t seen it already, please take a look at my topic, “Dosage increased yesterday/feeling worse today”, not too far back in the forum listings – our forum friends (Carrie, Kimberly, Karen, Laurel, and Beach) really helped me a lot. I hope you will soon feel better, too.
Florain reply to: Dose increased yesterday/feeling worse today (?) #1178280Oh, Fooey! Sorry to hear of your frustrations – do you think maybe Laurel’s and Kimberly’s posts to me (on April 10th of this conversation) might apply to you, too? I felt pretty awful that day with the dosage change …. I hope you feel better again soon!
Florain reply to: Dose increased yesterday/feeling worse today (?) #1178278Thanks so much, Friends. It’s good to know so many helpful people are on this journey, too.
Florain reply to: Dose increased yesterday/feeling worse today (?) #1178274PS: And my thanks to you, too, Karen for your helpful reply (I forgot to go to my Page 2, where I found it again today). It’s so reassuring to hear from those who have been there.
Florain reply to: Dose increased yesterday/feeling worse today (?) #1178273Just a quick note of thanks to Laurel, Kimberly and Carrie – your replies were so encouraging, and exactly right! At about the 13th-14th day mark, after my dose was increased, I did notice improvements. These improvements came just when I needed them most, when my husband needed me (described in another post). Thanks again, Ladies, for sharing with me.
Florain reply to: Can stress set you back? #1178903Thank you, friends … at times like this when when everything (life itself!) hurts, it’s comforting to know others have been through similar challenges, and to be reminded by them that there is still that light at the end of the tunnel.
Soldiering on,
Florain reply to: Any book suggestions? #1178469Thanks so much for these recommendations for books to read, while I wait. Being new to all this, I hadn’t realized there is some waiting to get through, before noticing a difference on the medication (5 days now, on my increased dose of 5mg of Tapazole, 3 times a day – and counting!).
in reply to: Any book suggestions? #1178467Thanks, Laurel – will browse the list ..
Florain reply to: Dose increased yesterday/feeling worse today (?) #1178272Sorry to hear you’re struggling, too, Karen, but we are so lucky to have found this forum. Yes, the lack of energy is literally a drag (as I described it in an earlier post, it’s like going from Energizer Bunny to Weak as a Puppy). Hope our doctors can get things calmed down soon!
Florain reply to: Dose increased yesterday/feeling worse today (?) #1178270So glad to hear this, Carrie! I have a call into the doctor’s office, as Kimberly suggests, for a guesstimate as to when I could see a difference, on this new (and hopefully effective) dose. With me, it’s the muscle/joint aches, and reduced strength and stamina, that are the worst, along with some nervousness. I read somewhere that this is a marathon, not a sprint, so I’m still working on staying positive and patient. Thanks again!
Florain reply to: Dose increased yesterday/feeling worse today (?) #1178267Thanks for your note – I do feel that maybe, with the dose increase, I am actually starting at Square One again, and that it will take a few weeks to notice some improvement – so glad to hear you are doing better!!!
in reply to: Dose increased yesterday/feeling worse today (?) #1178265Hi again – As a newbie, I’m trying to get the hang of all this (thanks to everybody for your help). My question today is, since my levels didn’t move at all on the low dose I was on for the first five weeks and the dose was increased two days ago, is this like starting from Zero again? Could it take 4 to 6 weeks for excess hormone to be flushed out, and therefore 4 to 6 weeks before I notice a diference? Hope I’m not hogging the forum ….
in reply to: Dose increased yesterday/feeling worse today (?) #1178263Thanks so much for sharing with me …. I’m new to all of this (a frightened new recruit), and really appreciate the support I find here.
– Florain reply to: Another newbie question #1178193Thanks for your replies – you never feel alone here. I seem to remember reading somewhere, that it can take up to eight weeks on ATD’s before any real improvement is noticable – but I hope maybe I’m “remembering incorrectly” …(?)
in reply to: Another newbie #1177991When diagnosed five weeks ago, my doctor decided to start me on 5 mg of Tapazole once a day, and that’s all so far. And so far, as I mentioned, symtoms are as bad or worse. I noticed in reading posts, though, that it can take weeks for stored excess hormone to be flushed from the system (learning lots here!). I’m wondering how long other people have been waiting, or had to wait, before noticing even a little improvement. Five weeks has seemed like a long time to me, but can it take this long, or longer?
