I agree with SKi. You need to moniter your lab tests at least 4-6 weeks in the beginning. I was on PTU 300mg and went hypo in 2 weeks…terrible…almost worst than hyper to me. Also, it is wise to get your liver enyzmes checked when you have been on ATD’s at high dosages for long periods of time.

About your teeth, I have had 3 children and my teeth changed a bunch. I ended up having invisalign to straighten them out again. It took 6 months of wearing retainers at night. I also have to use sensitive toothpaste and a fluride rinse everynight (including flossing every night to help strengthen the gums). My teeth are much more sensitive since Graves disease DX. You just have to take extra special care of your body. Blessings to you~

Thanks for the replys. Very helpful. I think I will really consider trying the remission and giving it one more year before considering RAI. I did great on 50 mg..now just have to get back to that point. ALso, encouraged to know that RAI will not cause cancer (down the road). I just assumed that taking it orally that it would "deposit" into other cells for future use. Thanks for responding.
