 I feel like you. I am 29 years old with the body of someone who is 100+. I can’t say 90 because my grandmother will be that next month and she can do more than I can. I went to the SS Disability doctor yesterday. I am visibly in such bad shape that I almost brought a seasoned doctor to tears! Oh, he also, diagnosed me with PM (pretibial myxedema). My two small children are my motivation and what keeps me going. I have no insurance, and my fiance’ lost his job. It’s rough, but I have to be strong!

Cry! Shout! Scream! But whatever you do don’t give up, you are most definitely not alone…..

<img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> I only smile because it is absolutely disgusting. Avoid sodas, and o.j. especially within the first 3 hrs. of a dose. I take 150mg twice a day, and have been for awhile. It doesn’t get better and you never get use to it.

I can definitely feel your pain. However, I am on the other end. After, months and months of watching me suffer, be hospitalized, weep, etc. I am at a point where my significant other won’t touch me. I think me being constantly, sick for the last 5 yrs. has finally turned him off. He says its not me, but it is him grasping what is happening to me. So, I think there is hope for you- keep communication open. Let her be honest with you about her feelings, but you do the same. And definitely seek some kind of counseling.

I suffered about two years with severe palpitations! I almost ended up in the psych ward. I couldn’t sleep, concentrate, anything. I would rather keep a conversation, listen to music, or something during the day- then to sit in "so called" silence. All I could hear was my heart pounding, all I could feel was my heart pounding. It was horrible. I had one doctor tell me it was mental and prescribed a crazy high dosage of Zoloft (100mg daily). I didn’t take it because I knew I wasn’t looney (well…). But, seriously I am on Propanolol (80mg daily), and it works. Makes me very drowsy, but I think because it’s been a long time since I had a sense of calmness.

 In a nutshell….ROID RAGE!!! Not steroid-thyroid. I am a witness and a sufferer. It does exist. I have experienced black outs, broken dishes, and two mile walks at 1 am trying to calm down from something said to me that didn’t hit me the right way. Be very careful and let your doctor know.

As a sufferer of tachycardia, I can say I don’t really know what the prolonged damage is but there has to be something. When I was first diagnosed with it the first thing I did was quit smoking..But, other than that; I don’t miss a dose of my Propanolol (I am currently at 80 mg daily).

I am a 29 yr old mother of two who was diagnosed almost 5 yrs. ago, in the beginning of my pregnancy with my first child. Wow, I am new to this site, but definitely feel like a veteran in the disease. Don’t panic!!!! (yeah that went in one ear and out the other I’m sure). It sounds like you have one thing on your side that I don’t….INSURANCE!! If you stay on top of things and the doctor seems to have a plan of action for you, things should be fine.
