in reply to: Post RAI and want to cry #1067601
Hang in there. Can you reduce your daily routine to provide for more rest and time to just be you? I was lucky to have an 8 week period to recover before going back to work. I had RAI in June and I work in schools so had till Sept. to feel better. I think the low stress of having the summer off helped the anxiety and fatigue. Also just hearing my doctor tell me that it may take a few months for hormone levels to drop off. Beware because when they drop mine dropped off like a rock. I had some blood work done and then went on vacation, my doctor had to chase me on my cell phone number because she wanted me to start a synthoid script right away. Good luck!!
in reply to: ANGRY but finally started therapy yesterday #1067740Wow, sounds like just writing all that down may have been therapeutic for you!! hooray for you!! It is rather interesting how many of our significant others really would like to sweep all these "soft symptoms" under the rug. Folks say things like well at least you don’t have cancer. this is true but at times some validation of feelings such as mood swings, fluxuating energy and anxiety. Take things one day at a time and I have found that I really can’t overdue things like I used to be able to do and be able to bounce back the next day. I try to explain to my family but they really don’t understand. Good luck! I am 4 years post RAI and feeling pretty stable. If you have any questions just ask.
in reply to: H1N1 vaccination #1067921I was wondering if I should get the H1N1 vac or talk to my doctor about it too? I am worried because lately I seem to get all kinds of flu bugs going around and get hit harder than I used to with everything going to my lungs. I work in urban elementary schools with lots of sick kids!
in reply to: graves eye disease #1075687I am new to this bul board but I am searching for info about the thyroid eye connections also. I had RAI 4 years ago and have had increasing episodes of red itchy eyes, blurrey vision and in general my eyes look terrible due to the redness. I really didn’t think there was any connections but I read the recent article in the foundation newsletter closely and now wonder if there is. I went to an Opthamologist recently who seemed thorough but pretty much dismissed me. It leaves me wondering.
