I had a lot of those same symptoms and I’m 45. I started on a bio-identical progesterone and I have normal cycles again and no cramping. Before I was pretty much in bed with a heating pad for a day.

I’m including a link to Bodylogic MD’s video library because there is a lot of good information such as mood and hormones, Thyroid health, menopause and how all the hormones work together. It has really been helpful to me. I know a lot of doctor’s are skeptical of bio-identical hormones but the site has some really good information on hormones and how they work together and why you could be symptomatic.

I don’t get a flu shot because of the adjuvant’s that they contain. My doctor is also not a fan of the flu shot for that same reason. I make sure I take my vit. D and multivitamin each day and I stay pretty healthy as far as the flu and cold’s go.

Here is a link to the CDC document that list’s the ingredient that vaccines contain. I don’t like that some contain formaldehyde and thimerosol (a mercury based preservative).

Anyway, just my opinion and what I choose to do.

I also have some dark patches on my face and my dermatologist said it was Melasma. He said Melasma is cause by hormone imbalance and the sun. I use a cream sometimes but usually just try to use sunscreen, which helps but I still get dark patches in the summer.

I remember that break out session. The discussion was very heated. I was surprised myself to hear the doctor say after RAI/Surgery that Graves’ was cured.

My two cents……..Our thyroid is a symptom of Graves’ not the cause. So removing or destroying the thyroid is removing a symptom not the cause. Make since? Any way that is how I see it.

I had RAI in 2005 and I wish I could say that Graves’ is a distant memory for me but I can not. Although, many of my symptoms have been rectified, there are some I still struggle with.

I gained 10 pounds after RAI. I lost the extra weight after my number were normal. I do have to watch what I eat closely now but some of that goes along with my age and other hormone imbalances. I wouldn’t be afraid of RAI because of the weight you may gain. Just think of it as one step closer to returning to a more normal you.
