I’m sorry to hear about you having aches. I take ibuprofen and it helps with all my symptoms especially my achy eyes. Good luck.

Hi. I think it’s safe to take the ibuprofen. At least that’s what my husband says who is a critical care doc. He was also the one who asked at the onset of graves if my life insurance premiums were up to date, lol.

Our marriage is now based on who is going to take care of who first. He takes Humara. (Sp?).

    Have a nice night everyone!

My husbands first question was, “Is your life insurance premiums up to date?”

Humor can go a long way when you are sick.

in reply to: Dear Thyroid… #1179715

Ive gone though divorce. Once you make up your mind and go through with it, it can lead to a better life. Now I wonder about the karma in that decision…GD? Well the ex would like to think so, lol.

I am in hate with my thyroid and/or immune system right now. I have already made the decision. Im whacking it out asap! If I keep taking parts and pieces out Im going to be gutted like a fish.

One problem, the endo has to at least return a phone call. You’d think he would be embarrassed since he and my husband work at the same place. Ya, I may have to fire him.

    Take care of yourself, Ann

Thank you for all of these posts. I guess I need to look into a new diet. Lately I have been eating anything that will go down because I have no appetite. I need to soldier up and look into an iodine free-as-can-be diet.

    Thank you again.

That endo sounds like my husband. If I get a phone call back from the endo Im in shock.

My husband is looking at my results tonight, well that is if they send them to him. Unfortunately USC doesn’t really have their act together. If you go in as an outpatient the hospital has no access to records. So If the good doctor decides to postpone her date night for a moment and gets those results over to my husband he may pull me into the hospital tonight for more tests if he thinks more should be done.

Yes, I am really lucky to have medial access like this. I feel so sorry for others out there that don’t have someone in the medical field to lean on. Although, lol, if my husband doesn’t get me fixed his beautiful dinners are a goner. Picking up the socks and underwear…done! The primary holder together’er will be a thing of the past!

Wow the stories. I’m so sorry. GD is very misunderstood by the public. I never knew about the disease until I got it. My husband is a physician and even he is in the learning curve with me.

Did you go a long time before being DX with GD?

When being DX with GD should we automatically make an appt with an OD? I’m worried. My eyes hurt behind the eye socket.

    Good luck.

Hi, wishing you a successful surgery and recovery. Maybe you’ll get a cute nurse too.

Gosh I am in love with everyone. Thanks

Went to GP. She DID take labs. I was afraid she might not because she would over ride the endroconologist that she works with. So now I wait for the results.

I went to Carl’s jr and had onion rings. Why do you think they made me feel better? I haven’t had a drop in sugar for probably 2 hours.

Yes!!!! I had a blood test today. I eat then 15 minutes later I am starving again. I begin to sweat and shake more and generally feel horrible. Strange, I had some Carl’s jr onion rings out of desperation about 2 hours ago and I am feeling pretty good. I will report back once the blood tests come back. This is one of my bad symptoms.

I’m sorry to read about your illness. Maybe this will help…I have two boys your age, work, military trained and love their mom. Pick one, lol.

On a serious note you are right about being the time of your life. Things happen for a reason. I haven’t figured it out yet, btw. I am so sick and I have a full time job and a special needs child. I’m mad at my body for giving out. My youngest needs me.

My husband is a pulmanologist and critical care doctor. Honestly he is baffled by this disease. I’m lucky to have someone in the medical field helping, it would be worse if he wasn’t. Sad isn’t it?

If I repeat myself over and over and over please forgive me. I can remember who I tell what. So once I tell a story that’s it, it does not get repeated in fear I’ve already told that person.

Take care and let us know new news. Ann

Hi. Get in the shower or under an electric blanket, maybe that will help.

I seem to get chills. I got a themonitor to measure my temperature. It is changing every 10 minutes.

I wonder if both of us have a virus too!

    Good luck.
