I just found this support group yesterday and have just finished reading all the
postings. Here’s my story in a nut shell. I was misdiagnosed six years ago by the
military. They told me I had anxiety/panic disorder. I’m sure this sounds very
familiar to some. I was diagnosed with Graves in January with the followins
symptoms: heat tolorence, paplitations, tremors, emotional rollercoaster, frequent
bowel movements, etc. I do not have any problems with my eyes, which after
reading above, I feel blessed. I had my cocktail in May (15m) and my levels are
still a bit high. My doctor will see me in another three months to check my level
again. I still have symptoms like heat tolerence, frequent bowel movements, and
weight gain (I’ve gained 50 pounds in the last 8 months). What I’m confused about
after reading the above is: will I have problems with my eyes in the future and what
can I expect from hear on. Any help is appreiciated. Thank you, Pauline

I go an Opthalmologist for my eyes. My eyes were really bugged out when I was diagnoised 6 yrs. ago with Graves Disease but have gotten better since I’ve taken synthroid. From what I understand my eye dr. says the eyes have a mind of their own. They may get worse, better or stay the same. He wants me to come every 6 mos. and he dilates my eyes and measures them and I don’t know what else but tomorrow I have an appt. as has been longer than 6 mos. and my eyes really bother me and althoug they are not as bugged out as they once were, they will never look the same as before GD. You might want to check with an eye doctor. Good Luck!

I was diagnosed with graves about two weeks ago, seems I also had mono
and that was masking most of the symptoms, except for the shaking.
the mono is mostly gone now though.

My hands and knees shake constantly. I work for a doc, so I was lucky
to be able to get blood work done easy. She sent me to a specialist,
            and he diagnosed graves.

I am supposed to get a scan next week, a two day thing they said. I am
terrified of doing any treatment except for the ptu. I know it is
unreasonable to be terrified but I can’t make the feeling go away.

I also am having trouble with being wired and then being exhausted.

Just wanted to let some of this out to someone who might understand
            thanks.
