I came here back in 2001 or maybe it was 2002 when I was first diagnosed. The docs tried to treat my hyperthyroidism but I was just a mess and took the pill in 2002. I got the protruding eyes so bad that my eyes would flip back and I scared small children. Because I had to travel for my eye surgery they did both eyes at once and the difference was remarkable and went perfectly. They had to remove scar tissue and bone from behind my eyes. A year later I had my second eye surgery but that one was totally cosmetic

Synthroid just did not do it for me and I found it much easier to regulate myself on Armour. I am also lucky that I have a doctor who treats me according to my symptoms as opposed to my bloods. I think I went through 8 or 9 of them and I ticked each of them off.

Have you been to an opthamologist (sp?)? In my case my optic nerve was being compromised.
