The Foundation itself does not endorse particular brands or products, but for the benefit of this community, are there specific products that you personally find helpful in managing your Graves’ Disease?

These should NOT be products intended to replace conventional medical treatment, but rather products that help make your day-to-day living a little easier. Examples might include eye masks, eye drops, organizational tools, or a special CD that helps calm your “Graves’ Rage.” Any suggestions?

Note: A listing on this thread does not constitute an endorsement by the Graves’ Disease Foundation.

    Bueller?… Bueller?… Bueller? <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

I’ll start with a couple: I’ve had good luck with the tranquileyes eye masks at night in conjunction with Genteal’s severe dry eye gel. I wake up with my eyes feeling much less "gritty". (Warning: *don’t* use the gel during the day, unless you want to deal with blurred vision!)

Also, highly recommend any CDs with Hawaiian music — buh-bye Graves’ Rage, hello Happy Place!

I have to agree with music as a way to calm down, I keep my stereo in my kitchen and if I start to feel like I’m going to start screaming I go in my kitchen listen to music and relax for a few minutes. I have to say the best thing I have found for myself is swimming. I joined a gym with a pool and in the evenings I take time to go swimming and do laps, it helps with to reduce stress and also wears me out. Since I’ve started swimming I’ve actually been sleeping more than 2 hours and have been able to almost fall right to sleep. And my endo was on board

When I get the hot sweats I use two soft blue ice packs placed inside of a pair of all white tube sox. One behind my neck and one on my forehead or top of my head. I am prone to heat induced migraines so as soon as I feel hot sweats coming I break out the blue ice. I got both of them from CVS.

I have mentioned this before, but I love the systane Balance eyedrops in the purple box. Also, I could not have made it thru the last 2 years of "illness prior to surgery" without sleep cd’s to listen to. Suduko and word circle magazines to calm my racing mind, though, now after treatment, those days are few and far between. Benydryl Gel is still my "go to" when the mysterious hives and itching happens. <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

I have found the GenTeal gel drops the best for my eyes. I was diagnosed with Grave’s in 1999 and treated with RAI in 2000. My memory is so far gone now. I have been putting my car keys in the same place everyday. That way, no more endless searching for those lost keys. I also hung a large calender on my wall near the sink. I write down everything. With it by the sink, I always glance at it while washing my hands, brushing my teeth, etc. Without my calender, I would forget everything. I write everything on it, down to what day I have to buy cat food again. It works well for me.

I too found Genteal Eye Drops to be very soothing due to the gel consistency which moistens the eyes.
