So i’m confused on this. Tell me what you all think. I had my rai may 22 09. Normal tsh levels of .5 in September. Started to have severe hair loss and found out i was being over treated with .75mcg of synthorid. I was concerned and had more blood done. My endo reduced my dose to .50. Still had the jitters, hair loss, weight loss and sever anxiety. I told him and he said I was still adjusting but this was 2months later. Had blood work done again still hyper at my new dose. He lowered me again…I know i shouldnt have done this but I took myself off synthoroid and levoxyl because I knew i wasnt feeling right and my hair was begining to fall out to the extent of bald spots on my temporal region. I have been off all thyroid replacement medication for a month now and my hair no longer is falling out, im not tired, im not having anxiety. I feel sooooo much better, like pre graves better. My levels are normal. I dont understand why? What is my thyroid doing? lol. I was pregnanat and Bobbi said that maybe if I had any thyroid tissue left that maybe the graves was attacking it again b/c of the antibodies with the pregnancy. Do you think this is just my body coming out of my hyper levles from being over medicated or is my thyroid working on a litttle bit of tissue that I could have retained from the RAI?? I mean I feel GREAT. I cant explain it. Im not having jaw clenching, hair loss. my bald spots are growning back in and my endo thinks im NUTS. LOL… What could I do or recommend doing to my endo to see if i have any thyroid tissue that is working properly or am i just in normal range for now and will begin to fall back hypo? I dont want to take the synth or levoxy if i dont need it. I took it the other day b/c I was like I better take this stuff and I felt awful. Wall hugging, dizzy, hyper like symptoms. Im just so confused and dont know what to think or do… Any advice would help. thanks!

Sorry you’re having such a time with your levels. Glad that you are feeling well though. I’d wait it out and see what happens not being on the replacement. It seems to me that if your thyroid has started up again it will be easy to see that in a few months and if it’s just a blip that you will go hypo again soon too. Hopefully somebody else will have experienced this too and can give you a story to go on.

    take care,

    Bobbi,
I think that she was pregnant for a few weeks but isn’t anymore.
