Sandy: I think I might have the dubious honor of being the one on this BB who has done the most complaining about my weight gain since receiving RAI. I am obsessive about this topic and have done a ton of research on it. Feel free to e-mail me and I’ll share what I’ve found out.

Since being diagnosed with Graves in Nov. of 96–I noticed that at first I lost about 6 pounds. Now with my blood levels normal and on a lesser amount of medication–I seem to gain no matter what I do. I was reading posts on another board and some of the people said that there doctors told them not to bother with exercise because of the way Graves affects your metabolism. A few said that there doctors told them that light exercise was best. Has anyone heard anything about this seemingly contradictory advice? I’ve been walking, stretching and doing some light weight work, watching my diet and still gaining! My doctor is now testing my FSH to see if I’m finally heading into menopause. Just what I need another hormone problem! I just love this disease–it sure adds a certain amount of what I don’t know to my life!
