I have signed up for WW, too — doing it on line.

Tonite’s salsa lesson was a killer — it’s a half hour lesson and I was sweating profusely afterwards. I had about 5 glasses of water and sat for a good 15 minutes before I hit the road; the dance studio is a good 20 miles from here.

Madame X – Salsa sounds like fun…and a fabulous workout! Do you post over on the WW message boards?

I had a great week food and activity-wise, and then was UP 1.2 when I weighed in this week. This is sooooo aggravating! I know that if I give up completely, things will get REALLY bad, so I need to stay focused…especially this time of year!

Hey ladies sorry I haven’t been posting. I am just on and off at the moment.

UGh I am now sitting with a TSH of 32.1 so I am now piling on the pounds. I am very disheartened and really hope no more goes on and that I will come into range and it will fall off. But what if my metabolism stays like this and I can’t burn it off.

lacie I hope you are not hyper again – you have had a terrible time of it.

Good luck ladies. glad to hear you are doing well. xxxx

    Hyperm,
What happened with your lumpy feeling in your neck?

    Just worried about you there.

Hey was just looking for that thread to give an update <img decoding=” title=”Smile” /> It has went down. It wasn’t near my scar so it wasn’t scar tissue. I think it may have been a gland as i took a cold a few days later..so maybe its been to do with that. Its still there but not as large. I never called my GP as my both parents have been unwell and my dad had to get a doctor into the house (uncalled of in the UK unless you are loosing a limb <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> ) so I forgot about it.

Thanks so much for thinking of me. xxxx

Hey gals! Just thought I’d check-in. Still right at 140 pounds. I’m now 4 months post-RAI and ran a half marathon yesterday. My finish time was almost the same as the last one I ran (in May) when I was just getting the Graves’ symptoms and had yet to be diagnosed, so I am pretty excited that I’m at least back to where I was. I’m 5 pounds heavier, but just as strong or stronger. Still on 75 mcg Levo and pretty sure I’m still hypo, no labs due til mid December, though. Down to about 3 cups of coffee per day which is pretty good for me. Hope you all are well.

    Hey Lacie,
Glad to hear that you are doing so well. I am on 62.5 levoxyl and getting labs next week after the holiday rush. I was at 33 tsh last time I had labs. I am still losing weight slowly and that’s probably best. I am able to do more and more each week and am pushing some as I think that’s the only way to get back to something more normal after being sick for two years.

Hope that you have a great holiday with your family .

Lacie – Congrats on the 1/2 marathon. What a great milestone!

ewmb – YAY for the continued weight loss…you are doing great!

I missed my normal WI, as I was out of town on Saturday. So last Thursday, I was down 0.8. I had hoped to take off the entire 1.2 that I gained before, but no such luck. I am coming to terms with the fact that this is probably going to be a two-steps-forward-one-step-back kind of a journey.

There was an interesting comment in the most recent GDF newsletter about Thyroid Eye Disease: "The specific cells that are being attacked are called orbital preadipocytes. These are cells behind the eye that are capable of turning into fat cells when stimulated by the
antibodies." Maybe this is going on in other parts of our body, which increases the degree of difficulty with weight loss. I’ve actually heard this speculation on another board — maybe there’s something to it.

    Hi girls,

Sounds as though most of you are really doing well and maintaining the weight <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

I am devastated by the weight gain on my part – I am now up to 11st 13lbs. Nothing is fitting clothes wise and I am really trying to walk whenever I can and cut back. My TSH was 32.1 at last blood result and I am on 150mcg thyroxine. However, my hair is falling out rapidly now and with the weight gain I gather the meds are perhaps not high enough. Starting to get worried now. I hadn’t weighed myself in a while as I have so much else going on with hypo symptoms that I thought it best not to be faced with a depressing result – sorry I haven’t been on here regularly.

Kimberly I am having problems with my eyes too.

lacie – congrats! I am going to get fit again…..one day.

Aw, hy, I’m sorry. that has to be rough.

remember the sweats I told you all about? I am pretty sure it was connected to the doc halving my methimazole dosage– about 6 days after the dosage was cut, I started to get funky sweats. They’d worsen if I put on my coat, added another blanket at nite, etc.

the sweats vanished about 2 weeks ago. It was pretty brutal.

I’m still hanging in there and trying to eat right. Still sticking to program — my stomach feels smaller and my eyes look a lot less puffy since I started the program.
