My four pounds was really two I guess. Maybe some water loss that came back. Oh well.

    Hi all,

Well I am down to 157 – think I may have lost that wee bit weight on my big toe!

I am going to try and leave the car for short journeys – to be honest don’t feel well enough to be walking places some days but am aiming even to pick my eldest up from nursery on foot now I have a nice steady heart rate. I feel I need to try and build up some exercise tolerance now after such a long time of being told to avoid anything. Also really watching my carb intake.

Hope everyone has a good week xxxx

Up to 139.5  But I feel great so I’m not gonna let that bring me down. Plus we ate at the chinese buffet last night and I always blow up with water after chinese, so hopefully that’s all it is.

Feeling really yucky. Hoping it’s that I’m going hypo. Have had real bloating issues the last few days. I don’t know if it’s what I’m eating or not enough water. I am piling on water today. It’s chilly so I am making spaghetti for supper. Trying not to eat too much at night but it’s hard since I sit alone a lot. My teenage daughter is in band and always needing a ride from here to there so my husband is in the car when I am splayed out on the couch at night. Trying to remember by ww tricks like eating with my left hand and putting things in small bowls instead of bringing the container out of the kitchen. This blah feeling is so hard to overcome.

ewmb – when do you go to get your levels checked? Those do sound like hypo things you describe. It’s chilly here, too, and I considered making pasta and meatballs but then remembered I don’t cook. DH will be at work til midnite since it’s the last day of the month (I am a car biz widow) and even on normal nites he isn’t home til 10, so I’m kinda used to the lonely thing. Least I have my little guy. But we eat weird stuff cause cooking is silly for just us 2. Spaghetti sounds yummy, though! I fed my addiction with a peanut butter sandwich and I will make DS a steak wrap and a salad.

    Lacie,
You could get noodles and get a jar of ready made sauce to keep on hand for next time. I did make spaghetti and it was good. I used the bread maker for some bread too. I think I’ll go in this morning and get my levels checked. It’s just 10 minutes up the road to my GP. I can’t go all the way to the endo every time that’s too far. I was going to wait a week to make it an even month but I think I will feel better knowing if something is changing or not. I also don’t want to be stuck in the Labor Day slow down. I wish there was a home test for this

Just sitting here typing I feel like going to sleep…………….

My best week of the last month in terms of activity and food choices, and I was down a whopping 0.2 to 139.4. :x

I got my lab results this week and am back in range after having a hyper episode earlier this summer. This made me wonder if the fact that our levels are *falling* has as much of an impact on weight as whether the levels are high/normal/low. I really wish someone would do some research on this, as it’s very frustrating!!

I know that the assumption is that we are gaining back "good weight" if we were previously hyper — but I don’t see how it can be "good weight" if we didn’t *lose* any to start with! Grrr. Hope that everyone else is faring better!

Hi all. Got such a shock when I weighed myself this morning. But checked a little later and I think it was just a mistake (phew) either that or I had managed to lose 6 lbs in an hour! I suspect that my cat was treading on the scales behind me – he’s not a fan of wieght loss.

I think I have now managed to stablise my weight – I’ve been on ATDs since January. And, on the whole, don’t obsess quite as much about food as I did. So, I just need to lose a little now. Easy huh!

I’ve had to put my ‘skinny clothes’ away in the bottom of the wardrobe Lacie – better out of sight than the distress of trying them on. But my running is going well – I can now do 5k in under 30 minutes, which, at the begining of the year I couldn’t even run 5k.

    Just rambling now…

I’ve decided to join the weigh-in site…….scary as it is. When I met my husband in 1984 I weighed 98lb soaken wet, and stayed that way for years and years, I’m only 5’2 and very tiny boned. But…I started gaining weight around 3 years ago….up to 125, then 137, 145, 150, and now 160+. WHEN IS THIS GOING TO STOP. I have a big appetite during my supper meal and do like my wine. So as of yesterday I cut my wine out completely, and my one can of gingerale a day, and going to try and reduce my supper plate size. I started walking to do, not far may 45 mintes.

Please tell me this weight is going to come off….or are you going to tell me I will continue to gain after going hypo. I’m thinking I may have to go for another radiation treatment as my readings after one month are not changing much. I hope not.

I do go over the US border over the weekend to bring our boat back, and I kicked their radiation dedector and had to go inside and have them swipe a metal detector all over me. I was screaming and did identify the treatment as Iodine, I think 301 or 013. not sure.

So encourage is what I need here. Any ideas?

Take care all of you, thanks for your input.

    Deb,
I feel like I am in the same boat. I have gained a lot of weight since I was hypo first on the atds. I had RAI about 4 months ago and just turned a corner. I have gained several pounds in the last few weeks. I am going to start back on some kind of exercise and try to do my weight watchers again when I feel a little better. The weight should stabilize is what I’m told when we get euthyroid. Then your body can start to try and deal with it through exercise etc.. My numbers were actually somewhat normal at one month out from RAI. I then went really hyper and then just last week got numbers that showed hypo. Hang in there it will happen.

I am sorry about the radiation setting off the detector. That must have made for interesting talk at the border. Some lady says she swallowed radiation! Where do you live in BC? I used to live in Seattle.

    Hi

I actually live in the Yukon Territory, about 2 1/2 hours South of Alaska. We take our boat there over the summer months and fish for shrimp, and salmon/halibut. Not much luck this year, a few salmon and a fair bit of shrimp though.

Ya I’m sure hoping things pick up for me, this is nuts…hate being this size. My knees are in rough shape to start with, and the extra weight doesn’t help. I will be in B.C. for awhile this winter, in Osoyoo’s, which is 4 hours North of Vancouver.

    Deb,
Maybe you could just make a short goal of say drinking 8 glasses of liquid a day. I find that if I do too much on goals at a time I can’t get anything done. I’ve never been to the Yukon Territories. I’ve been to Ontario and BC. My husband is originally from Ontario.

You are right about the knees. The older I get the more they creak.
