This past weekend, I reported I was having a real prolonged period.

On Sunday, I felt like crap. I took myself to the ER. They did a bunch of bloodwork and the ER doc there said my pelvic exam was normal. I went home; was there 3 hours.

I saw my GP on Monday. He said to me, "See a gyn; this isn’t my specialty." He gave me a script for progesterone which I did not take.

On Tuesday, I saw the gyn. There is a nice big fibroid in there — how the blast did the ER doc MISS it??? He gave me meds to stop my period; he says the abnormal bleeding will happen again with the next period I have. He also did a biopsy which hurt like hell; am waiting on the results for that.

This kills me that not one doc will even say "It could be x, y or z" — I think they’re all afraid of being sued so this is why they offer no opinion.

Sorry about that. I know that ER doctors are sometimes the least effective. I had one order thyroid tests two years ago because I went in with heart pains??????? The tests never got done and they didn’t worry. That would have caught my Graves a lot earlier. Had to go through hell to get some help it seemed. Glad that you know what it is now. I’ll cross my fingers that the biopsy brings good news.
