Not sure you can compare it to a tonsillectomy! Send a message to the NGDF office and they will send you a great article on Thyroid Surgery.

    Hi again,

In researching the TT, I’m wondering how it (surgery/recovery/pain/energy) compares to a tonsillectomy, the only surgery I’ve ever had. The tonsillectomy was a few years ago, and it took me 11 days to be completely back to normal, energy-wise. I remember sleeping nonstop, waking only to take pain medication and to eat soft foods. I was wiped out for those 11 days, not able to do more when awake but shower and then return to bed. On the 12th day as my ENT predicted, I woke up feeling back to normal, the scarring/scabbing happening as it should, etc…

I’m seriously considering the surgery once I return to the euthyroid state..
    Thanks in advance!
