Hi everyone, a bit of background. So I was diagnosed with Graves back in 2004, had RAI treatment, then put on Levothyroxin. For last 20 years Labs have been pretty stable on 88mg until recently. Last two labs my T3 and T4 are within acceptable range, but my TSH has plummeted. Primary Dr changed Levo to 100mg and 88 mg alternating and sent a referral to Endo, I’m awaiting an appt. I’m a 70 yr old female. Wondering, has anyone else experienced this scenario?

Hello and welcome – This forum isn’t super active, so you might also want to check out our closed Facebook group. (Visit Facebook, search for @GDATF, click “join group”, and then answer the new member questions when your notifications light up.)

It’s possible for hyperthyroidism to recur post-RAI if there was tissue left behind, but it’s also not uncommon to need a dose tweak over time (for example, if you experienced a significant amount of weight loss.) Hopefully, the endo will be able to shed some additional light.
