Ok people along my many days of searching the internet I have found that some doctors that are Endo’s like to call them a thyroidologist. I know that means that they specialize in thyroid disorders. I am wondering if indeed anyone here sees someone that calls themselves that. I was referred to one in Salt Lake right before my twin daughters were born, but never made it there. Although my primary doc did consult with her during my prengnacy. Anyway just wondering,
Valariei live in Utah, could you PM me the name of the doc? Thanks.
Hi bradybunch,
I’ve encountered the Thyrodologist issue myself, on the internet.
It seems to be a fairly recent phenomenom, but I surely hope it spreads.
You can find more information on http://www.thyroidologists.com/. There you can find the adresses of about 31 "thyrodologists" across the USA (almost all, but there’s also one in Italy, and one in Denmark).
Also, you might want to check out http://www.thyroid-info.com/topdrs/.
Although maybe not technically calling themselves thyrodologists, endocrinologists that take a special interest in thyroid disease, might in fact be called "thyrodologists"…Starvee
Thanks for the response,
I just checked out the top doc site, I guess we don’t have any good ones here in NM, as some aren’t practicing, or they have moved out of state, or have been removed from the list. This is going to be fun, I need a good doctor that I can train I guess, kinda like my last one. I have to find me a new young doc. Darn it, the hard work will begin.
Valarietry thyroidmanager.org…they have docs on there from all over the world. A great site to search for info and they also have a case of the month…so when you do find a doc to train maybe you can give him/her some reference sites to refer to.
Oh thanks, I have done that once before. It worked out really well. Our doctors in Idaho were trained by me. That is why they were consulting with the Thyroidologist in Salt Lake, and why they were actually able to find out that my twins had Neonatal Graves disease at 18 weeks gestation. Oh the modern technology. With them willing to learn and my willing to learn we tought each other things. They were great. I just wish I didn’t have to start all over again….it is so hard. Thanks again,
