My doc informed me today that you can have a bout of thyroiditis and Graves at the same time. I called him to tell him about the soreness in my neck. I also told him that I felt tightness in my throat that proceeded into my jaw. He told me to take ibuprofen. Also, I noticed that when I’m this way, my hyper symptoms worsen. Has anyone had this? Thanks for your help!

Thyroiditis means an inflammation of the thyroid gland, and it’s caused by the Graves’ antibodies (which also cause the excess thyroid hormone). Not everyone has the obvious swelling and pain you mention, but it makes sense that your symptoms would worsen when the thyroiditis is worse.
