I had surgery on Thursday at UW Madison, it ended up taking 4 hrs. The surgeon said it was one of the hardest she had done. She does over 300 a year. Alot of scar tissue from the radiation iodine treatment in Jan, vascular and large. I have a bad sore throat but other than that feeling good. I asked the surgeon to take a pic of it and trying to figure out how to add it on here. I also donated it to research. Maybe it can help finding a cure so it will prevent others from having to go thru this disease.
Taking Tums 3 times a day for slightly low calcium, reduced beta blockers and start thyroid meds tomorrow.
I hope it doesn’t take long to get on the right dose of meds.

Thanks for the update! I actually interviewed two patients who had thyroid surgery at UW Madison for an article that will come out in the Foundation’s newsletter this fall. Both were very pleased with the results!
