I also highly recommend the conference. I was just diagnosed this year and didn’t know anything about GD. The conference was just the primer (and so much more) that I needed. In addition to the wealth of information, I made some great new friends. It was wonderful meeting others who understand the battle with GD.

Thanks for posting these! It’s my favorite event all year, bar none. <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> And believe it or not, I find out something new EVERY time. It was lovely meeting all the new people, reconnecting with friends from prior conferences, and enjoying the SWANKY hotel (I had to climb into my bed each night, I felt like a princess!). <img decoding=” title=”Wink” />

I just got back from the patient and family conference. It was well worth the time and money. I learned a lot, made several good contacts, and the hotel was beautiful. Thank you! I encourage people to consider going next year.

Of course, Ski is too modest to mention that she received a special award for "Volunteer of the Year" for all the work that she does with the boards here. <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> Congrats!

Ditto what everyone else said about the conference. I really enjoyed learning more about Graves’ Disease, re-connecting with old friends, and meeting new ones.

And yes, the hotel was fabulous! I stayed an extra night in Charlotte, but had to switch to the Airport Sheraton, because the Ballantyne was full on Sunday. As you can imagine, the Airport Sheraton was *slightly* less luxurious.

I wanted to echo what everyone else has said about the conference. Although I was diagnosed with GD in 1993, this was my first conference and I’m already planning on going to the next one! I encourage others to go if you have the chance because it was very informative plus great to be among a group of folks that fully understood the trials and tribulations of this disease.

Many thanks to Nancy and Peter and the many others that put in the long hours of work to make it all happen! Also, I very much appreciated everyone making this conference newbie feel welcome and an especially loud shout-out to Dianne and Ken for everything! What can I say? You folks are special!!!

    All the best,
    Sheila H.
