I don’t know what it might be if the pain is coming from the TED. Shirley, or someone else here who has had a worse time with that disease than I had might be able to enlighten you. My comment is that not every health issue that we experience has to do with the Graves/TED. The only way to truly know what is going on is to go to your doctor, and ask. I developed blinding (transient) pain in my temple area a few years ago, and it turned out that I clench my teeth while sleeping. I was fitted out with a bite guard, and it alleviated the problem. So if it continues at all, see your doctor to find out what IS going on.

Hi Sue, I have rare headaches, probably less than one a year, and not severe. i have not heard of or read about, this symptom being associated with TED. Bobbi’s comments seem right on, and from my layperson point of view, my ownn experience, and what I have read, the two things are not related. TMJ does cause that, or you may have a headache whivch might respond beautifully to one of the meds designed for cluster or migraines.
Best wishes with the additonal problem, hope it does not occur often, and you find a resolulution to it~

Thanks Bobbi & all…I think you two are CORRECT, in that, I also have TMJ and a mouth guard to wear, but I ALWAYS want to blame EVERYTHING that happens with my eye changes, etc. on TED. Never gave it a mins. thought that it could be my TMJ kicking in. Time to put the mouth guard in and see what happens!! THANKS ALL!!
