Just weeks ago I was told that I have Graves and TED. I have cried, screamed and been depressed. Both my endo and gp believe that it is best for me to have the TT surgery in the hopes that my eyes will not get worse. After much research and soul searching i have decided to trust their judgement on this. But i am scared, i have chronic pan sinusitis (which means that i will be facing another surgery within 4-6 weeks). My symptoms are on every end of the spectrum!! I have anexiety, depression, tremors, high heart rate (around 100pm), insomnia, and i’ve gained weight (approx 30 lbs since oct 08).
I am writing this to ask for prayer. I believe that God is a mighty God who listens to the faithful. If you also feel this way, please pray for my doctors, my family (husband & 3 kids), and for me. My name is Michelle. i will probably never meet you in this place, but will at my father’s house! Thanks & Love

Hi Ridefamily, I just had my TT surgery last Wednesday and even though my calcium was low and I had to stay a few hours more, I feel much better already! My heart rate is down, my tremors gone, my anxiety gone – it’s wonderful. Actually, once I started taking the SSKI to prepare me for surgery my palpitations went way down and since surgery – none! My eye is no better, but wasn’t expecting it to be any better yet, maybe in the future it will go down and if not there is always surgery to fix it. It actually seems a little worse, probably due to the SSKI, but you know what, I can live with that since I feel soooooo much better! Good luck on your surgery, I will pray for you and hope you feel as good as I do (a little sore but good despite that!). Good luck.

Michelle – I will pray for you and your family, and ask that you do the same for me – my surgery is May 6th. Part of the reason I’m having surgery, like you, is that my eyes don’t get worse. I’ve also gained weight instead of losing it – so here’s hoping we’re both feeling better soon! Best of luck to you. Let us know how it goes.

Hi, all — My son, Steven, is having his TED surgery on April 20th. I’ve been praying for the success of his surgery and for all who suffer from Graves. I will keep you all in my prayers.

    Regards,

I am at home resting after surgery. It went well. The dr took out my thyroid and moved my para-tyhroid glands???? in approx 1 hour!! I did stay the night however, my calcium levels were great the dr said…so i could come one home. I have a follow up on Monday April 13th. Thanks to all who have been praying for me. I am sore, stiff, and it hurts to move my head. That being said,,,,,I am so excited because I could actually tell a difference in how I "felt"! I "felt" better than I have in a long time. My eyes are a little more swollen than before surgey and the blurriness is still there but no double visison!!! :)

Michelle, I know I am posting this after your surgery and pray all is well. I pray God’s continued blessings on your life. For with Him all things are possible. He is our sustainer. I am thinking of having the procedure as well, I have been on PTU for 4 yrs and the storms are wearing me down. Stay strong, stay prayerful and know that "can’t nobody do you like Jesus".
