Hi all! I’ve recently been diagnosed with Graves’ Disease & there are days where I feel super alone and like I’m losing it. Does anyone know of any support groups in the Cincinnati, Ohio area?

Just saying, id love a support group too here in NY. Did you try typing that into google as it is a search engine? Maybe you’ll get lucky and find something listed.

The Graves’ foundation and Kimberly may be the most helpful resource.

Hello – For those who are interested, you can click here for a listing of GDATF support groups:

(Note on links: if you click directly on the following link, you will need to use your browser’s “back” button to return to the boards after viewing, or you will have to log back in to the forum. As an alternative, you can right-click the link and open it in a new tab or new window).

    http://gdatf.org/groups/

If anyone is interested in starting a group in your local community, you can contact the GDATF at info@gdatf.org or at 877-643-3123, x101 to get started with the application process.

Our volunteer support group leaders secure meeting space, book speakers, publicize the meetings, communicate with current and potential members, and facilitate the conversation during the meetings. Because the time and energy commitment is significant, we recommend that potential leaders wait until they are back to feeling well before trying to get a local group going.

It is strongly recommended that you have a physician advisor on board, but this requirement can be waived for otherwise highly qualified candidates.

Our volunteer leaders also sign a “Statement of Understanding” and agree to adhere to the same guidelines that we follow on this online forum.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information. Looks like there’s nothing in Cincinnati yet. :( Maybe when I’m feeling better I’ll be able to do something about that…
