Hi, Deb!
It’s hard to know what is causing *your* stomach pains. I know that I have occasional stomach cramps when I’m nervous, constipated, or when food doesn’t agree with me. I know that it’s not fun!
Digestive problems are signs of thyroid problems – constipation tends to come with hypothyroidism, and hyperdefecation tends to come with hyperthyroidism. Constipation and/or diarrhea can also be a side effect of thyroid hormone replacements and beta blockers. Diarrhea and abdominal pain are infrequent side effects of ATDs. There are a few culprits that could be the reason for your pain. I would definitely consult with your doctor about this one, especially if it’s frequent, severe, and you can’t pin it on an upset stomach from food.
Wishing you good health and happiness,
Debby
