This morning I decided to give the Cytomel a try. My doctor prescribed 5 mcg and said to take one a day. Due to my sensitivity to meds., I cut that pill into quarters! :D Last thing I want is to feel hyper again, so I figured I’d start with a 1/4 of a pill for a week and then increase it by a quarter each week. I’m taking it with my Synthroid 112 and will see how it goes. My free T3 was at low end of normal (a 2.2 where the low end of the normal range was 2). My only complaint really is just being wiped out by the end of the day. So tired that I physically HAVE to go to sleep by a certain time or I just feel really not good. A good night’s sleep usually takes care of it, but a little extra energy would be great. So, we’ll see how it goes. Thanks to this board for being the tremendous source of support from day 1! Love you all! Big hugs to you Shirley!!! :)

Alexis, I’ll be following you on your journey…since I’m a few months behind you. So I’ll be super interested to find out what you think of the Cytomel. So far our Graves’ journey has had so many similarities…

    Good luck & keep posting!!

I’ll let you know! Not sure what it will do. My doctor said if I have an adverse reaction, it should show up around a week into the medicine. Of course, I’m only taking 1/4 of the pill for now. I’ll increase to 1/2 a pill next week if I feel okay. Not about to take a full 5 mcg at once right off the bat. Hyper isn’t exactly a place I want to revisit.
