A lil bit of background in the easiest form possible:
-no insurance (pre existing you know, sigh)
    -diagnosed Graves 6 years ago
-treated with meds till June 2011 by OBGYN
-Got appointment with cherokee nation indian healthcare
-IHS (Indian Healthcare Service) Dr took me off all meds in hope of doing RAI

-Since first diagnosis my health has wained SO much so that I now also have the following: graves eyes/gained 100 lbs and cannot lose nomatter what I do other than juicing every day without any other form of food intake/high blood pressure/heart palpitations/uneasiness/snapping easily/cold/no sleep/sleep apnea (have to wear a mask now)/pre diabetic/stomach ulcer/hemroids/Folic acid deficiency/back, knee, hip problems/daily headaches/asthma worsening/extreme exhaustion/dizziness, nausea/etc.

-IHS takes forever to do anything, so fast forward to today and I have been off all meds for almost one year per Drs request having been hyper the entire year (but unfortunately not enough to lose weight).
-My Dr is only in ONCE A MONTH and therefore I must speak with the nurse.
-The nurse knows nothing about Endocrinology and never can answer any questions I have.
    -Both are vague in treatment/questions/etc
-couple that with IHS taking forever and BOOM-I’m doing nothing but sitting here dying slowly while other health problems arise.

My Dr doesn’t want to consider Thyriodectomy because of possible health problems/side effects but I’m frankly tired of getting no answers and no solutions. I’ve started keeping a journal of my lab results and researching options. I feel like I’m dealing with incompetence quite frankly. For example my last labs she wanted the regular 3 levels and then an antibody test to see if possibly we could do RAI if there were enough antibodies in my thyroid to take up the radiation thus killing it. This was two weeks ago. I called and rcvd a call back from the nurse who told me my levels but said nothing of the antibodies…when asked she said “oh I’m sure if she saw anything she’d have me tell you but I can’t until she signs off on it and I don’t know when that’ll be but she does want you to come in for another blood test since you’re now feeling HYPO.
Uh yeah, I’ve gained another 8 lbs in two weeks and feel like I”m walking thru water so whether your sweet lil levels state I’m hypo my body is acting like it!

I just don’t know what to do other than pressure them for a removal since it’s clearly dying and hope to get this crap over with once and for ALL! I’m sooo fed up right now I can’t even tell you. I’m tired of dying slowly. I’m ready to live with my family again.
    Advice? Thoughts?
