Vitiligo, a skin disease and a part of Hyperthyroidism, is painless white spots on the skin. I had this in the past, years ago, and it went away. Years ago I did not know it was a part of Hyperthyroidism. I now have some spots on my chin, around my ankles and on the top of my feet. Looks like I have a dirty chin, ankles and feet!
I am just getting over Grave’s Disease and I am now into Hypothyroidism after electing to do the Radio Active Iodine treatment for the Grave’s Disease. What a nightmare that was to have GD!
My husband has the white spots all over his neck and upper body and has for years now. Sometimes they are not so painless. At times due to humidity or rubbing of his clothes the painless white spots will become pink and crusty which do then become painful or itch.
We are having my whole family checked for thyroid disease now.
Let me know if anyone would like for me to post ALL of (about 20-30) the symptoms and signs I had due to Grave’s Disease. They kept on going undiagnosed until one day, after years of suffering, I was actually (or was it accidentally) diagnosed… No, really it was by the grace of The Lord and my pushy Mother and Mother-in-law.
