I am still new to all of this. Is it common to have rashes on the torso, arms and legs? It doesn’t itch; it’s just there.
I’m having all kinds of eye problems. My vision is often blurred, and I have double vision, I saw an opthamologist yesterday. He said the muscles in my right eye will not permit my eye to move above the midline. He wants me to see a neuro-opthamologist next week. I am to take the cat scan that was done on my head with me. Is this typical?I will finally see an endocrinologist on Sept 8. What are the questions I should ask?
I took tapizole for about three weeks. I also had a sinus infection for which I began taking an antibiotic. Suddenly, I had hives so badly that my hands were swelling and ended up in the ER. Went off the antibiotic, had another rash on my face and was finally told to stop taking everything but the beta blocker. Then, the eye problems started. Am now on prednisone, the beta blocker and benadryl. Nothing seems to be helping much. Any ideas?Hi
I can help a bit with the hives side of things i had very bad Urticia (hives) on my legs they also sweled up badly I was also told to stop taking all my pills, they did a blood test and then said to stop taking the thyroid pill i was on, they came to the conclusion that i was elergic to that, that was last year since then i have had RAI twice and last week got a new batch of thyroid pills (Different make) and i woke with Urticia again, so i checked the igrediants I think i may have found out what it is that caused the hives. But when i see my GP again i am going to ask for a allergy test. But reading postings on here a lot of people have had hives.
Good luck

I have just been told I have Graves disease. I’ve been having alot of eye problems, double vision, extremely dry eyes, and swelling.
I haven’t seen my Endocrinologist yet so I don’t know what to expect from the treatment. I bought a book on Thyroid and it is very helpful. I would like to know if anyone has had there double vision get any better after some treatment. This also gives me alot of headaches trying to focus. I’d appreciate any information. Thank you.Hi, Georgia Girl:
I’m sorry to hear about your eye problems. And it is good to get your thyroid tested, but it may be OK right now. You DO need to check, now and in the future, but your eye problems are not being caused by thyroid levels being out of whack. The eye disease is it’s own monster. Getting thyroid issues treated, if you have them, is important for your overall health, but does not affect the progression of the eye disease.
If you are not already seeing an ophthamologist, please make an appointment with one. You need a medically trained eye specialist — not just an optometrist — to guide you through the ins and outs of the eye disease.
I do wish you luck,
