Pretibial myxedema has nothing to do with our levels of thyroid hormone, unfortunately. It is caused by the antibodies. In a very small minority of us, the antibodies affect the skin on the legs (primarily) and the eye muscles as well as the thyroid. So getting your hormone levels up will not help. You might consider going to a dermatologist to find out IF what you have is pretibial myxedema, and then find out what he/she recommends you do to treat it.

    Wishing you luck,
    Bobbi
