I am lost also. But I am happy I found this place, so that I can read and talk with others who have the same problem as I do. My first symptoms were anxiety and high blood pressure. I was sent for numerous heart tests and they came back fine. Then my hair started to thin, and I started to lose weight. Lost so much I started to look anorexic and my sitting pulse was 110. Sent for more blood tests, and more heart tests, then a few weeks ago I had uptake tests..results..Graves. I am now on 10 mg of methymazole 2x a day for 2 weeks, scheduled for blood test every 2 weeks, also drop to 10mg in 2 weeks then I see the endo again. Also on 40mg of propranolol 2x daily and I am to see my GP next week to see if I should stay on propranolol. Did manage to gain 3lbs. in a month doesn’t sound like much but to me it is. (lost 28lbs). I am tired of brain fog and insomnia.

Hello and welcome – this is a great place for information and support.

It sounds like your medical team is monitoring you closely, which is great. One thing to watch is to make sure that your doc is looking at Free T4 and T3 to make dosing decisions – and not just TSH. TSH can stay suppressed for quite some time in Graves’ patients, so isn’t a good benchmark for making decisions.

It’s also helpful if your doc’s office will set up your lab order so that you can get labs done *before* your doctor’s visit. That way, you will be able to spend the appointment discussing the results and any dosing changes, rather than having to get this info over the phone from the office staff.

    Wishing you all the best!
