The fact is Mary you seem like an angel having lived with GD for ten years! Was it a constant battle?? I’m assuming that you just fairly recently developed the eye part of this disease??
To my perspective the radiation treatments may seem like a godsend to you because maybe after 10 years you deserve some relief!! I understand that the radiation treatments have been around since at least the early 70s. Where I go they treat patients almost every day with it! There is also http://www.infotrieve.com (I think-its a free Medline search) that has actual scientific studies. I typed in Graves, Thyroid eye disease, orbital radiation etc as key search words and found lots of info.
What side effects are you getting from the Pred?? All my life I’ve been thin, able to eat almost anything, however I was never a junk food addict. But I keep reading that many people gain lots of weight with GD and Pred. I hope I don’t.
