    Hey Katie,

Got my labs results back today. My TSH is 1.48, right where I suspected it would be because I’ve been feeling so much better and stronger.

The insomnia & crashing exhaustion for me, is probably a result of being type II Diabetic ~ offically diagnosed today. When it comes to insulin the diet gets more complicated than I realized. For example; I had made a pot of 15 been soup which in most cases would be very healthful. Well, I’ve got a few books on diabetes ~ one doctor gave the comparison that for a diabetic to eat a large portion of beans is equalivant to a hand-full of twinikes. NO WAY! Yes. So if I had a bowl of beans and some watermelon at lunch my body would have an insulin high for a few hours and then crash. Just what I’ve been doing. I made an appointment with a dietician to fine tune my “healthy” food choices.

Female hormones. I had hoped to have a low level of estradiol not a good thing but would possibly help explain my weight issues ~ especially the waist. (I gained 52 pounds right off the bat while on anti-thyroid meds.) Bingo, I have no estridiol in my system. I had quit HRT at the beginning of Graves. Now I want to find the HRT that is right for me.

Fluctuating indigestion & loose BM I’ve had are possibly a result of the diabetes or it could be the once-a-month Boniva calcium suppliment I take. This needs more tracking on my part.

The possible lack of T4-to-T3 conversion in some cells is still under consideration. I’ll work with all the above before I try a T3 replacement hormone.

My zest for exercise? Well, the doc pointed out something…..that’s how I was BF Graves.

All this is good news to me ~ in a way. It’s not my thyroid and that’s sort of refreshing.

    Linda
