    Thanks george…

Next time I see my doctor I am going to ask him to
do another EKG. See, I am in the service and
I really dont have to much faith in them but that is
all I have right now so I must make the best of it.
    Thanks again.

I have been experiencing a shortage of breath lately. My heart seems to beat a lot faster than usual too. Throughout the day I have to exhale may times, deep exhale, in order to release the feeling of heavy on my chest. Is it a systom of palpatation??

I had hyperthyroidism before and had RAI done on Apr 98. Recently I had a blood test done and my level seems to be Ok( TSH 1.5).
Now I am starting to wonder if my hyper is reoccuring again. Can anybody outthere describe what palpatation feels like??? Is shortage of breath a symtom of palpitation?

    Lynn,
Shortness of breath can be caused by that. Your heart is working extra hard. But the palpatations you feel. I’ve had the same feelings you are describing. And I had RAI nearly 2 years ago. My levels are stablized. But I still feel my heart pound sometimes. It bothers me so I am going to have it checked out. I get “winded” easily when exerting myself also. (I have to monitor my heartrate so I don’t over-exert.) It is puzzling to me too. It is a typical hyper symptom, but without being hyper. Let me know if you learn any more & I will do likewise.

I just posted today about the palpatation’s. I get them all the time. My doctor tells me my levels are fine and that It must me stress. I don’t feel well anymore and I am looking for an answer. I am seeing the best specialist in northern New Jersey and still do not have the answer. Please let me know if you hear anything.

Just a precautionary warning. I have suffered from arrythimia and heart palpitations for about 10 years. My heart would sort of miss a beat and then pound like the devil to stabilize. About three weeks ago, it went on for three hours, I was rushed to the hospital and almost died. Sometimes, it may be other factors in addition to Graves which happened in my case. They did the stress tests and a very extreme EKG and found a passageway in my heart that wasn’t supposed to be there. To sum up, the palpitations I’ve experienced over the years turned out to be a major heart problem. Maybe you who experience it may want to get some heart specialist to look at the problem so this doesn’t happen to you.
