Hi Kaci! Memory problems could be a symptom of GD, although many doctors
would probably disagree with you. Have you visited with your daughter’s
teachers lately about your concerns? What adaptations/modifications
have they done at school? Has she had these problems for a long time or has
it gotten worse since her GD diagnosis? On a more sensitive note, has
she ever been tested for Learning Disabilities? I can’t guarantee answers,
but I am a Specific Learning Disabilities teacher for elementary and high
school students and I’ll try to help if I can. Email me at:
    ddjass@rconnect.com

    Take care, Debby

P.S. Maybe your daughter has “hot flashes” because of allergies or hives?

I know I was having trouble in school as my Graves progressed. I was in honours/AP classes and had more trouble than I ever did. I had trouble concentrating. Also, my Trig/Pre-cal classes all of the sudden became hard for me. I gave up on Calculus, because I did not have the concentration, etc. for it. Now that I have decided to return to college, I am scared it will be harder for me, since I had so much trouble the last part of HS.

Thanks for your input Catty. I am having a hard time convincing my
daughter’s teacher that there is something wrong with her. When I
read all of the things that are happening to people on this BB it
frightens me for my daughter’s future. You sound as if you are coping
very well with GD. Good for you!! Kaci
