    Linda,

To be honest with you sometimes I feel good, sometimes I feel like I must be close to hyper and sometimes hypo. I have heard from 3 different people who have also had their thyroid removed that it took them about 2 1/2 years to really feel like themselves and their levels staying consistant.

    How have you been feeling?

    Ski,

I totally agree. The funny thing is my doctor didn’t even bother to call me directly he had his nurse call me. I am not saying I have a problem with a nurse calling but if you are talking about a medication I have already had a problem with. I then starting asking her if she could check with him about the armour thyroid. She didnt even know what I was talking about. I proceeded to make an appointment so I can go in 2 weeks to discuss with him.

Maybe I dashed off my note too quickly — what I was trying to convey was that I thought it strange for a doctor’s office to get test results, suggest a solution, and give the patient the choice of complying, all without fully informing the patient as to what this substance is, what it does in the body, what an “out of range” result could mean, what the replacement could do, etc. etc. etc. It just seemed to put the patient in a no-win situation — take it and something goes wrong, and you’ll hear “well, you chose to take it,” or don’t take it and find out you should have later, and you’ll hear “well, we gave you the option.” Either way, she wasn’t fully informed to make the decision yet.

    Katie,
I had wondered if you get the totally exhausted feeling suddenly.

I’m toying with the idea of trying T3 for the reasons I put in my most recent post. Before I do anything I study it FOREVER. I’m not convinced yet, but if I do try a T3 replacement I would want to start on the very lowest dose and build up. I already have that energy surge and crashing thing going on without any added help.

When I feel good I feel absolutely terrific ~ clean the house, groom the yard, go to work, run to the gym, offer to paint somebody’s house. The next thing I know I’m like an annoying Energizing Bunny that got shot with a tranquilizer gun.
