    Good evening everyone!

My doctor told me today that they are going to run blood tests on me so they can hopefully catch me before I turn hypo – is this normal? I’m all for it that my doctor wants to help me before I hit a brick wall. I had RAI on the 3rd of July, so it’s just a waiting game right now.

I’m honestly not feeling any different since my RAI. I consider myself a pretty positive person, and try not to let everything get to me too much. I’m a working mom with two children 6 and under (and an AMAZING husband!!), so I don’t have much time to throw a pity party for myself. I have decided to surround myself at work and with this board with positive people.

It’s like when you’re pregnant, you want someone to tell you what labor is like – but they can’t, it’s different for everyone. I guess in a way, it’s the same with Grave’s. No one can tell you exactly how you will feel or how long it will take. This board can just provide you with support and excellent advice.

I look forward to the journey ahead and hope I don’t become a pshycho-PMS 24/7 woman ;) All the more reason for me to keep a journal so I can hopefully catch signs of hormones raging.

I love this board and thank each and everyone of you!!!

Watching carefully, to try to prevent you from going “too” hypothyroid is a good thing, and most doctors try (with varying degrees of success). One thing you can keep in mind: usually we are caught at minor levels of hypothyroid, which would normally not make someone feel all that bad. In the seven years that I have been on replacement hormone, I’ve gone minorly hypo once or twice and not even noticed. But when we are coming down from a “high”, if you will, the comparison can feel great, at least at first. Try not to assume that at minor levels of hypo you would always feel the same exact way. You won’t necessarily, because if your levels should drop a bit, you will not be plummeting, as in this time around.

PIty parties are definitely OK from time to time, as long as you only dip the occasional toe in. ; )

    Wishing you better health soon.
