    Hi Charlene,
I was wondering how you have been doing. Hope things get better for you. My mom has the same leaking valve thing you do and they said as long as she gets echos every 6 months and takes antibotics prior to dental work it shouldnt pose a problem. I hope the same is true for you.
    Take Care,
    Katie

Well, I went back to the doctor who did the surgery on taking my thyroid out. Wanted to see how I was healing and all. He told me there is no infections or anything but……I will end up with a scar on my neck yep!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also said the knott on my neck and the swelling and my voice could take up to 6-8 months before I am normal again and maybe longer which I was not to happy to hear. But it has not quite been 3 months yet so I quess this will take some time.

Also asked him about my eyes if having the thyroid taken out is going to help my double vision but he said it was to early to tell and that I had been through so much over the last 3 years will the graves and the rest of my auto immune disorders it just will take time and try to be patient with myself but this is so hard for me to do……My thyorid medication has been up to 125 mg and I see my endo again in October but I still feel like a every ready bunnie-the ones that never stops moving.

Hope the rest of you all are hanging in there. Take care and May God bless!

    Hi All-

I thought I would let you all know how I am doing. It seems we sometimes only hear when we are feeling bad and now that I am feeling much better I thought i would type in. My endo lowered my dose of PTU from 300 mg a day to 100 mg a day and Man what a differance it has made!!! I feel like my old self again and only get tired some times but it is not the tired where I cannot function it is just an ordinary tired that I can deal with! What a blessing to help get me through the holidays! It seems to me that even though we are in the normal range a little dickering makes a differance My last labs showed normal TSH nomal T3 but still a little low T4 and now that the change has been made I am going to asume the T4 is back up! hurray! I still need to have the iodine uptake scan done and will have to go off of the meds, but this has given me great encouragement for what is to come! So to all that are still not feeling the best Hang In There it will get better! I will be praying for you all!

I have not posted in a while so I thought I would let you all know how I am doing. I am now taking synthroid on a regular basis and doing well!!! I am still loosing quite a bit of hair however but the endo says that it is normal and will come back after my levels have been normal for awhile I guess the hair is a bit slower to return. I want to say thank-you to all of you who answered my posts in the past, this board has meant soo very much to my sanity!! I hope you all are doing well too just remember there is light at the end of the tunnel:)

Charlie, are you going to the conference? It’s a great place to share ideas.
