    Hi,

Charlene here and I was just reading your post on decompression surgery. Well, for me I have been dealing with graves and double vision now for all most 2 years. I am in remission right now so not getting any better but not gotten any worse. My right eye is the sick one but looking better. So far I have had the predisone which wore me out and then the radiation treatments which seem to help more. The right eye does not stick out so far but still off and not even with the other eye. It kinds of looks like I am looking down out of that eye all the time when I am really not. My thyroid gland is working right and no more loosing the weight and hair falling out.

Been seening another eye specialist (kids eye doctor) and so far she has seen me twice. I will see her again in December and then if I am still stable then we will make a decision on just what type of eye surgery is best for me and when. So far we have been talking about eye mussell surgery but then other people I have talked to on the board have told me that you have to do the decompression surgery before the eye mussell surgery so I am not sure but will check it out the next eye doctor visit.

Now, I also have fibroymalgia which is a bumber cause there is no cure in sight for this monster. Just working out when the body permitts and taking pain killers and then trying to cope. Sometimes life is so unfair you know. I hope your eye gets better and goes back in but at least you are not dealing with the double vision all the time anymore which must be a big relief……..I know it has not been easy for you but keep the faith cause like everyone tells me there is light at the end of the tunnel just waiting for you (smile) Wishing you the best and I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

    Charlene

Hi, this is new for me. I had my first deompression surgery last Wednesday and the follow-up Monday. The doctors told me that my eye looked great. The next surgery is next month. I was told I needed this or I’d end up going blind, so what choice? I still have swelling, but so far so good.
