I was just wondering if anyone else who’s been diagnosed with Graves disease has had an RK surgery on their eyes in the past? If so, how does Graves affect them? When your eyes start to swell or bulge, would this cause additional problems? So far my eyes haven’t started to bulge yet, but I was just curious. Thanks, Becky

Becky, I had Radial Keratotomy a couple of years ago. I was diagnosed on Wednesday, & I also do not have eye symtoms yet. I was wondering the same thing (& all the other things we can find to scare ourselves with) I don’t think it should have any effects tho…As I understand it, it is the eyelid that retracts first, causing dry eyes but I already had dry eyes, & had the silicone plug put in my tear ducts. That was a great help, & a “nothing” proceedure in the office. I know this wasn’t the answer you were looking for, but I needed to add my name to this exclusive club! Karen
