Cheese Puffs, that’s the one that gets me. But I try to stick to saltine crackers, they aren’t quite as fattening…

All the junk foods. Can’t see the endo till August 4, my birthday.

Yes, when I had the hyper phase of this disease, between ages ten and twelve,
I used to crave salt so much that I would pour it in my palm and eat it
out of my hand. I’ve never seen this listed as a symptom, but I remember
my mother and doctor discussing this behavior. Any one else out there
crave salt or is it just a central CT thing? I grew up in Wethersfield,
one town to your north, and now live in Cromwell, one town to your south.
    Talk to you soon.

    Denise (Dee),

I am glad that I am not the only one with this problem. We really need to talk to our endos about the sodium and iodine issues. Usually, when you crave something because your body needs it. But by satisfying cravings like these, are we doing more harm than good?!!. So far, I’ve listened to my body…but, who knows, I may just be making things worse.

All I ever want to eat is salty foods! I think it has to do with the iodine used in salt. Thyroid is probably craving the I- to make more thyroid hormone or whatever. Sucks, since I work in a bakery with lots of sweet foods! :-)
